The changes we never see coming.

There are many changes that we experience in life.  Some for the good and some not so good but we accept them as God's plan.

Last year on this day, November 15th, 2018, we purchased our home in Land O’ Lakes, Florida.  The day before, we had sold our Florida City home but had a post occupancy agreement until the end of November however you could technically say we were homeless for a day!  We did the post-occupancy as we wanted one last Thanksgiving in the home with all our family and the buyers, our neighbors, agreed.  We were also looking at a monumental task of packing up and weeding out almost 40 years of life in a huge home.

I had great faith in this move as I had never personally visited the home until Christmas after the purchase.  My husband and daughter visited the property several times but I only saw pictures and a short FaceTime video as the reception was bad but I had the faith in the fact that my husband knew what was best for us. We closed at the law office I worked at in Homestead because I had to work and couldn’t go to Land O Lakes.

Forward a year later....today.  We love our home, the area and the neighbors.  All the floors were ripped up and wood floors installed, my sewing room created, a brand new kitchen installed, hurricane windows installed and more.  The patio is still in the works as is moving the laundry to the garage and making the laundry room my pantry.

When people ask if we are happy, I always respond that I love the house, the area, no traffic, etc. and I do not miss the Homestead/Florida City area as it was getting so overbuilt and even though we lived out in the boonies, we still had to move about in the area.  I also say that I truly do miss the people who had become our friends as we grew to love them.  It was so hard leaving everyone but luckily I do get to go back and visit due to family also being there.

We are slowly getting to know more people.  This week I was elected as a director to our Homeowner's Association and I'm sure I will meet more neighbors.  I go to church, a bear sewing group and a bible study and have met more people.  My new connections are growing.

On our currency, there is a statement, "In God we Trust."  All in all, we know that God has a plan for us and we have put our trust in him to know what is best for us.  Yes...we pray...in God we Trust.
